As Technical Sales Manager, you will take full responsibility for driving technical sales of a specialist water product portfolio across your designated region. Working closely with the Technical Sales Director and wider commercial teams, you will play a key role in developing specifications, generating demand and building relationships with key influencers across the construction and water industries.

This strategic and customer-facing role will see you engage with architects, consultants, contractors, developers and water authorities to increase product specification, improve sales conversion and drive profitable growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering sales targets and budgets across a portfolio of specialist water management products.
  • Developing and implementing specification and demand creation plans.
  • Building relationships with consulting engineers, architects, contractors and key decision-makers.
  • Delivering CPD presentations and technical training sessions to industry stakeholders.
  • Supporting project specification and conversion activities from initial concept through to completion.
  • Identifying and securing new routes to market and business development opportunities.
  • Managing and developing key national and regional merchant and distribution accounts.
  • Working closely with sales teams to improve project tracking, pipeline visibility and CRM utilisation.
  • Monitoring market trends, legislation and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating with engineering, innovation and marketing teams to support product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Representing the business at industry forums, working groups and networking events.
  • Preparing and presenting commercial performance reports to senior stakeholders.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Proven experience in a technical sales, specification sales or business development role.
  • Experience selling in the construction, building products, civils, infrastructure, utilities or water sectors.
  • Strong understanding of specification-led sales and demand generation.
  • Experience developing relationships with consultants, contractors, architects and other key influencers.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to drive profitable growth.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience delivering CPDs and technical training.
  • A proactive and strategic approach to business development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across your region as required.
  • Knowledge of wastewater, surface water, drainage, pumping systems, environmental solutions or related technical products would be highly advantageous.
