Your new company is a family friendly, independent engineering consultancy with over 60 years of experience specialising in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. They provide incredibly customer focused, factual and cost effective advice throughout the full project life cycle which has enabled them to develop a varied and long-standing client base across many sectors.
World-famous £300m Hotel & Golf Resorts, 400,000sq ft industrial warehouses, sports stadia across the Northwest, £60m police head quarters and £80m multi-storey city centre commercial and office developments are a few examples of the kind of projects your new company have designed.
Your new role
Your new role will see you joining the business as an Associate or Associate Director Structural Engineer in charge of leading a structural design team of 8 highly skilled engineers and technicians. You will be responsible for overall project delivery, ensuring solutions provided are of high quality and delivered in a cost-effective manager.
Managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the team and taking care in the development of staff will also be highly important in contributing to the growth strategy in place. It will also be important that you manage existing and new client relationships, although there won’t be an emphasis on your ability to win work, unless it’s something you enjoy doing.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will need to a minimum of 10 years experience, a degree in Civil Engineering and be currently working as an Associate or Associate Director at an engineering consultancy. Chartership with the ICE or IStructE is also needed to succeed.
Experience designing a variety of structural schemes from conception to completion in the residential, industrial/logistics, hotel, office and public sector is highly desirable. Furthermore experience in leading a successful design team will be needed.
From a software perspective, AutoCAD, Tekla Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer are all highly desirable.
What you’ll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive salary package in the range of £60,000 – £75,000 depending on your level of experience and job title. An annual discretionary bonus will also be available dependant on your contribution. It must be said that as an independent company without shareholders, bonuses often well exceed average market amount.
Monthly social events and a weekly Friday breakfast paid for by your new company has has created a family orientated approach to office life. A 5% workplace pension contribution and importantly a fulfilling development pathway through Directorship are available.
