They are looking to welcome an assistant accountant to play a key role in delivering an efficient and high-quality accounting service. Your new role: Responsible for supporting the delivery of core accounting processes within agreed timelines. Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, consistency, and efficiency in financial operations. The role will involve various aspects of accounting including:
- Intercompany transactions
- Accruals and prepayments
- Insurance accounting
- Housing fixed assets
- VAT and CIS analysis
- Supplier verification checks
Also contribute to monthly period-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, cost apportionments, reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and timetables.
What you'll need to succeed: This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a shared service environment or a similar finance role, with a strong understanding of service level agreements and financial compliance. You should be confident in communicating with finance and non-finance stakeholders, adaptable to change, and proactive in driving continuous improvement. A part-qualified accountant or someone currently studying towards a recognised qualification (or equivalent experience) would be a great fit.
A detail-oriented and methodical approach, strong analytical skills, excellent time management and ability to work under pressure, high proficiency in Excel, including experience with sum ifs, pivot tables, and lookups, a pragmatic and collaborative mindset, and the ability to challenge and make informed decisions are essential.
