ASB Legal Officer Job in Manchester

Location: Manchester
Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the RoleWe are excited to offer a new position of ASB Legal Officer within our Safe Neighbourhoods and Support Service. This role involves managing and investigating a variety of ASB, legal, and fraud cases across a national area. Responsibilities include early intervention, legal actions, determining tenancy breaches, and addressing tenancy fraud. You will collaborate closely with residents, ASB perpetrators, and our field-based Safer Neighbourhoods Officers. Additionally, you will prepare legal cases, draft witness statements, and handle court applications for possession, injunctions, and access.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of routine and complex cases.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into reports of ASB, fraud, and tenancy breaches.
  • Adopt a victim-centred approach in ASB investigations.
  • Identify vulnerabilities early on.
  • Prepare court applications, including injunctions and NOSPs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and external agencies to utilise tools and powers effectively.
  • Work with team members to innovate and deliver first-time-right services.
  • Be proactive and responsive to community needs.
  • Skills and ExperienceEssential:

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and ASB best practices.
