Your new company is a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business based in County Armagh, seeking a Production Manager to join their operations team. This company is known for delivering high-quality products to a diverse client base. Your new role involves taking full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the workshop, leading a team of approximately 20. You will be tasked with ensuring production targets are consistently met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. A key focus of this role will be supporting the business in the implementation and optimisation of a new MRP system, helping to streamline production planning, improve visibility, and enhance overall operational performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing and coordinating daily production activities across the workshop
- Leading, motivating, and developing a team of 20+ people
- Ensuring production schedules are delivered on time and in line with customer expectations
- Supporting the implementation, integration, and ongoing development of an MRP system
- Working closely with planning, engineering, and senior management to improve workflow and efficiencies
- Developing and maintaining SOPs, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs including quality, delivery, and labour efficiency
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of production
- Ensuring high quality standards are maintained, implementing corrective actions where required
- Maintaining full compliance with health & safety regulations
What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience or exposure to MRP/ERP system implementation or optimisation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams of 20+ staff
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Solid understanding of health & safety in a production setting
