Your New Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems for a variety of engineering projects. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take projects from concept through to manufacture and installation, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, industry standards and project objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed 3D models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Developing innovative mechanical design solutions for bespoke engineering projects
  • Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Collaborating with manufacturing, procurement and project teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Supporting prototype development, testing and continuous product improvement activities
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors when required
  • Ensuring all designs comply with relevant engineering standards and regulations
  • Contributing to value engineering and cost reduction initiatives

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be considered, you should have:

  • Degree or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or Product Design role
  • Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Solid Edge or similar)
  • Ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
  • Understanding of fabrication, manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering environment
