Your new role involves joining the team in their Cambridgeshire office as an Apprentice Designer, providing an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career in design by supporting project delivery through a mix of design and administrative tasks. Duties include:
- Work alongside experienced designers to help create design drawings and compile project documentation.
- Assist with material selection and organisation, gaining valuable insight into how specifications are developed and assessed.
- Collaborate with teams across departments - including Design, Planning, and Operations - to understand project goals and limitations.
- Attend project meetings to deepen your knowledge of design workflows and gather key information on project requirements.
- Help collect and organise information from subcontractors and suppliers, learning how procurement and evaluation processes work.
- Support the upkeep of project records, ensuring all design activities are accurately documented and reported.
- Contribute to quality checks by helping monitor design outputs for compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Take part in ongoing learning opportunities, including mentoring sessions and professional development with senior team members.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Educated to GCSE level A to C (9-7) in Maths / English (Level 3 entry).
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent (Degree apprenticeship entry).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Enthusiastic to learn and develop within the role.
