Your new role
As a Customer Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for customers visiting the organisation's offices or making contact through various channels. You will provide an excellent customer experience by responding to enquiries, directing customers to the appropriate service areas, and ensuring all interactions are handled professionally and efficiently. Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing front-line customer service to visitors, customers, contractors, and staff.
- Managing incoming telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Processing customer payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Handling cash, card payments, banking procedures, and daily reconciliations.
- Posting and allocating payments using computerised financial systems.
- Supporting customers with online and digital service transactions.
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with GDPR and organisational procedures.
- Processing applications, permits, licences, and service requests through various systems.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and reception administration.
- Assisting with customer issues, escalating complex queries when required.
- Supporting colleagues and providing guidance to relief staff when necessary.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics.
- At least 2 years' experience within a customer service environment.
- Experience dealing directly with members of the public in a professional setting.
- Experience using computerised systems, including financial or accounting software.
- Experience handling cash and processing card payments accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to resolve enquiries effectively.
- Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, and GDPR principles.
- Access to suitable transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.
