Tax Director / Tax Partner in Altrincham

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, modern advisory-led tax practice in South Manchester with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, commercially relevant advice. The firm works closely with owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals, helping them navigate complex tax matters with clarity and confidence.

This role will see you operating as a key member of a growing advisory team, focused on solving complex tax challenges and delivering practical, risk-based solutions. The position offers a high degree of flexibility and can be tailored to suit the right individual, with options across full-time, part-time or consultancy arrangements.

• Provide high-quality technical tax advice across a broad range of client matters
• Advise owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and private clients on UK tax issues
• Deliver clear, commercially focused written advice on complex tax scenarios
• Identify tax risks and planning opportunities for clients
• Act as a trusted adviser to both clients and internal stakeholders
• Support and mentor colleagues on technical matters where appropriate
• Participate in client meetings and manage selected client relationships
• Contribute to the firm's growth through thought leadership, technical input or business development activity (where desired)
• Play a role in shaping the future direction of the practice

Success in this role will be defined by your ability to combine technical excellence with pragmatic, client-focused solutions while contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.

To succeed, you will be a technically strong and commercially aware tax professional who enjoys tackling complex advisory work and delivering value to clients.

• CTA qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Significant experience in UK tax advisory work
• Strong technical expertise across one or more areas (e.g. private client, owner-managed business, corporate or international tax)
• A proven ability to deliver high-quality, well-reasoned technical advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic problem-solving ability
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues
• A client-centric mindset and a commitment to professional integrity
