Your new role
As Tax Director, you will operate as a key member of the senior leadership team, driving both the strategic development and commercial success of the tax function. This is a highly visible role where you will influence the firm's growth agenda, enhance its market positioning, and broaden its advisory capabilities.
- Setting and executing the strategic direction of the tax offering in line with the firm's growth objectives
- Leading the evolution of the tax function from a compliance-led service to a more advisory-driven offering
- Acting as a trusted strategic advisor to key clients, delivering high-value tax planning and structuring advice
- Identifying and unlocking new revenue streams, including cross-selling and entering new markets or service lines
- Playing a central role in business development, including networking, client acquisition, and brand positioning
- Building, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing tax team aligned to future growth
- Collaborating with Partners to shape the overall firm strategy and long-term vision
- Ensuring robust governance, risk management, and technical excellence across all tax services
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be a commercially astute and strategically minded tax professional with the ability to operate at a senior leadership level.
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Significant experience operating at Director level (or equivalent), with exposure to strategic decision-making
- Strong technical expertise across corporate and/or private client tax, with a proven advisory focus
- A track record of driving growth, winning work, and developing long-term client relationships
- Demonstrable experience of shaping or transforming a tax function or service line
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building and developing high-performing teams
- A highly commercial mindset with the ability to identify and act on strategic opportunities
- Confidence in influencing stakeholders, both internally and externally
