As an HGV Mechanic, you'll carry out inspection, maintenance and repair work on a diverse fleet including HGVs, LGVs, plant equipment and specialist municipal vehicles. You'll ensure all vehicles meet statutory compliance, safety standards and operational readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting routine servicing, MOT preparation and safety inspections
- Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
- Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and local authority standards
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive workshop environment
What you'll need to succeed:
- Timeâserved HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician (or equivalent)
- Experience working on HGVs and/or municipal fleet vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and problemâsolving skills
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently
- HGV licence (desirable but not essential)
