Your new company
Hays are partnering with a public sector organisation to recruit a temporary Administrative Assistant based in Carrickfergus. The candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative and financial support to the Waste Service within the depot.

Your new role

  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Handle correspondence and communications for the Waste Management Team.
  • Manage performance data for audits and contracts.
  • Coordinate and collate waste and recycling statistics.
  • Conduct research and data gathering.
  • Archive data per data protection procedures.
  • Assist in marketing and promoting Waste Management Services.
  • Act as a point of contact for general enquiries.
  • Handle customer enquiries referred by the Customer Service Team.
  • Monitor trade waste schedules and provide service updates.
  • Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
  • Ensure prompt invoice preparation and payment.
  • Assist with ordering and stock control of waste management items.
  • Comply with Council policies, including health and safety.
  • Participate in business and service plan formulation and evaluation.
  • What you’ll need to succeed

    • Minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English language and Maths or equivalent

    AND

  • Minimum of two years’ administrative experience in a busy office environment, to include
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of administrative activities within a customer-focused environment
  • Experience of processing orders and invoices
  • IT literacy and confident use of databases, e-mail and Microsoft packages
  • AND

    • Qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology, i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting
