A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid invoice processing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The company is investing in automation, so it\'s a great time to join and be part of improving the AP function.
Your new role

  • Processing 50-100 supplier invoices per day with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Registering invoices, coding to the correct accounts and securing appropriate authorisation
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies
  • Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Processing employee expenses and foreign payments
  • Preparing supplier payments (BACS/bank transfer) in line with agreed terms
  • Reconciling supplier statements and identifying issues proactively
  • Supporting inter-company payment processing
  • Scanning and organising documentation for efficient retrieval
  • Providing holiday/sickness cover for the Assistant Accountant where required
  • Following company health and safety procedures at all times

What you\'ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable or high-volume invoice processing
  • Confident using financial systems (experience with QAD and scanning software is beneficial but not essential)
  • Competent Excel user (intermediate level)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing your own workload effectively
  • Detail-driven, organised and committed to delivering high-quality work
