Hays are recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support a busy site in OX14, working as part of an established on-site engineering team.

Location: OX14

Shifts: 5am-1pm, 9am-5pm, 15:30-23:30 (rotating)

Pay: £25.00 - £27.50 per hour (Umbrella) / £19.19 - £23.00 PAYE

Contract: 3 months initially, with potential to extend

The Role: You'll carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding across a range of plant and equipment to ensure minimal disruption and high performance.

Key Duties:

  • Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
  • Working on pumps, motors, valves, pipework and HVAC systems
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Supporting minor installations and upgrades
  • Reviewing and improving maintenance schedules
  • Ensuring all work is compliant and safe
  • Supporting subcontractors and completing documentation

What We're Looking For:

  • Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
  • Background in FM, building services, or similar environments
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
  • Organised, reliable and able to work independently
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts
