A well-establishedcivil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to supportthe delivery of a key infrastructure project in Scotland. Operating acrosssectors including civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, and energy, thebusiness has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projectssafely, efficiently, and on programme.
Your new role
As a Freelance SiteEngineer, you will join the project team on an initial 6-month contract,providing technical support and engineering expertise throughout theconstruction phase.
Key responsibilitieswill include:
- Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project specifications and drawings.
- Managing quality assurance processes and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards.
- Producing as-built records and maintaining accurate site documentation.
- Coordinating subcontractors and supporting site operations.
- Monitoring progress and assisting with programme delivery.
- Raising and managing technical queries with designers and project stakeholders.
- Supporting site management in maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Undertaking inspections, surveys, and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered forthis role, you will have:
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways, or energy projects.
- Proficiency in setting out using GPS, total stations, and surveying equipment.
- HNC, HND, or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
- Experience producing as-built information and technical records.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- CSCS card as a minimum, with additional site certifications advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
