I am partnering exclusively with highly successful Research & Development department of a global multinational household name who are looking for a Wireless Communications Research Engineer. This is a hybrid role based in Basingstoke, Hampshire which will require 3 days on site per week, the rest from home. Ideal for a new PHD Graduate or Researcher this position will pay £(Apply online only) per day inside IR35 and will continuously be renewed. Project description: An experienced wireless communications researcher is required to contribute to my client's research on RAN technologies that can provide optimum operation at existing and envisaged new radio frequencies to deliver the exciting new use cases that are being conceived for 5G-advanced and 6G wireless communication systems. Your role will be to research and design new RAN techniques that support both Sub-6GHz/mmWave and sub-THz radio frequency operation, non-terrestrial/satellite networks, IoT, joint communication and sensing, low latency and high throughput. You will collaborate with partners both within the group and my client's vast global research community to create RAN technologies for the new generation of wireless communication systems. To apply you will need an understanding of satellite OR wireless communication and to have achieved a PHD in the area of wireless or signal processing or similar. Key Responsibilities: Continuously track emerging concepts on RAN technologies suitable for the next generation of 3GPP wireless communication standards Experiment with these 6G radio access (Layer 1) technologies using simulation Formulate, analyse and test novel concepts on RAN technologies using the simulator Work with team members to identify any successful novel ideas for promotion at standardisation groups such as 3GPP, IEEE etc Required Skills: A PhD in any of the following areas: Signal processing, Wireless Communications, Satellite Communications, Telecommunications, 1+ year post-graduation experience in a collaborative research role with a significant wireless or satellite communications research component High level of Matlab and/or C proficiency Good technical writing and presentation skills Good interpersonal/collaborative skills Good awareness of 3GPP Standardisation workflow Good understanding of AI/ML Your application must contain the following: * For each degree received or currently enrolled in, provide the degree, institution name, institution city and country, start date and date (or expected date) of graduation.
