My client is a well-known consultancy seeking an IASS Squad Architect. You'll play a key role in shaping technical solutions, guiding delivery teams, and ensuring architecture aligns with security, governance, and business requirements. Working closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and delivery partners, you'll help deliver modern digital services that support millions of users.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce architecture designs that meet both technical and business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into practical and scalable technical solutions.
  • Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and design packs.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, testers, and platform teams.
  • Ensure solutions comply with security standards, governance, and architectural principles.
  • Support delivery teams throughout build, testing, deployment, and operational phases.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical assurance.
  • Identify technical risks and constraints and support mitigation activities.
  • Communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • SC Clearance
  • Strong experience working as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or Application Architect.
  • Hands-on Java development background.
  • Strong knowledge of Spring Framework.
  • Experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), authentication, and authorisation technologies.
  • Understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles.
  • Experience designing secure, scalable backend solutions.
  • Containerisation experience with Docker.
  • Kubernetes experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing and supporting microservices and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns and API-based architectures.
  • Experience producing architecture artefacts and technical documentation.

Desirable:

  • Experience within Government
  • Knowledge of secure access services.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native platforms and modern engineering practices.
