You will be supporting HMRC's Making Tax Digital (MTD) programme, which is transforming the UK tax system through digitally integrated tools and services. The programme aims to make tax easier for businesses, self-employed individuals and landlords by integrating tax management into day-to-day business activities through software and digital services.

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the Digital MTD V&C CESA Futures team. You will work across large-scale digital initiatives, identifying and translating customer requirements into effective solutions while engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements.
  • Apply systems analysis techniques to support solution proposals and high-level design activities.
  • Perform data capture, data analysis and data modelling activities.
  • Work with stakeholders across varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Support requirements and analysis activities within large-scale and multi-project environments.
  • Contribute to the delivery of digital transformation initiatives within the MTD programme.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Work independently while maintaining flexibility in a changing environment.
  • Support decision-making, conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement activities.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Strong Business Analysis experience within large-scale and/or multi-project environments.
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, requirements analysis, data capture and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in systems analysis techniques.
  • Experience performing system analysis and high-level design analysis.
  • Knowledge and practical application of data modelling techniques.
  • Understanding of systems development lifecycles, particularly requirements and analysis phases.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong judgement, decision-making and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing challenging stakeholder situations and conflict.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience working independently with a flexible approach.
  • BPSS clearance eligibility.
