Location: Telford (2 days per week onsite)

Rate: 490 per day (PAYE / INSIDE)

Duration: 6 Months

Clearance: BPSS Required

We are seeking an experienced Scala Developer to join a major public sector digital transformation programme focused on delivering modern, user-centric services that support the UK government's Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative. This programme is helping transform the UK tax system through innovative digital solutions and cloud-native technologies.

Working within a mature Agile environment, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, deploy and support high-performance Scala-based microservices. You will play a key role in delivering modern digital services that directly impact millions of users.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Strong commercial experience with Scala
  • Experience developing applications using Play Framework
  • Strong knowledge of unit testing and integration testing
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience developing and supporting microservices architectures

Desirable Skills:

  • Cloud-based infrastructure experience
  • Understanding of application security principles
