Your new company is a multi-academy trust well established with schools in Manchester, Yorkshire, Merseyside and Staffordshire, continuing to grow with new schools joining the trust. This vacancy is based at one of their sites in North Manchester, a secondary school where you will work alongside the Network Manager.
Your new role: Reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support to the secondary school, based on site 5 days a week, supporting staff and pupils. You will set up and install new equipment, software, hardware, upgrades and components, work with laptops, interactive whiteboards and sound systems, providing direct support to staff and pupils. You will maintain standard network cabling, perform basic diagnostics, and support the trust with their cloud platforms. You will work closely with the Network Manager on site, as well as with the wider central IT team.
What you'll need to succeed: To be successful in securing this position, you must have IT Engineer/IT Technician experience, ideally with experience working in the education sector in a school, trust or college. A proactive approach to your work is essential, ensuring a high level of support and customer service is provided to end users, and that all IT issues are resolved effectively. Knowledge of Google would also be beneficial.
