This role would suit an individual with strong experience across technology risk, operational resilience, outsourcing risk, cloud transformation or cyber assurance. You will act as a subject matter expert, providing technical challenge and assurance over complex technology environments, large-scale transformation programmes and critical third-party arrangements.

The focus of this position is to assess whether organisations are operating resilient, secure and recoverable technology services, whilst identifying emerging risks that could impact operational resilience and financial stability. You will engage with senior stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, CROs and board-level executives, providing risk-based insight and challenge on technology and third-party risk management.

What this role involves:

  • Acting as a recognised technical authority across technology, cyber, cloud, infrastructure, AI and third-party risk
  • Leading assurance reviews of technology transformation programmes, outsourcing arrangements and critical third-party relationships
  • Assessing the resilience and security of technology services against severe but plausible disruption scenarios, including cyber incidents
  • Reviewing cloud strategies, migration programmes and associated operational resilience risks
  • Providing challenge and technical guidance to organisations on technology risk management and resilience capabilities
  • Identifying emerging systemic technology and operational resilience risks across the financial sector
  • Supporting the development of risk assessment methodologies and assurance frameworks
  • Producing high-quality reports and presenting findings to senior decision-makers
  • Representing the organisation across industry forums, working groups and resilience initiatives
  • Influencing policy development through technical expertise, industry insight and thought leadership

What I'm looking for:

  • Significant experience within technology risk, cyber risk, operational resilience, outsourcing risk or technology assurance
  • Knowledge surrounding SS2/21 & SS1/21
  • Strong understanding of technology risk management practices, including prevention, response and recovery capabilities
  • Experience reviewing cloud environments and transformation programmes, ideally across AWS, Azure or other enterprise platforms
  • Knowledge of operational resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks
  • Understanding of third-party risk management, outsourcing arrangements and supplier resilience
  • Ability to assess complex technology environments and make sound judgements on emerging risks
  • Experience engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders up to executive level
  • Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Proven experience leading complex reviews, programmes or assurance activities

Desirable experience:

  • Experience within financial services, financial market infrastructure or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of operational resilience regulations and associated supervisory expectations
  • Experience assessing cyber resilience and technology recovery capabilities
  • Experience supporting diversity, inclusion and collaborative team initiatives

Benefits:

  • Salary of £73,760 - £82,000 in Leeds or £81,920 - £92,000 in London
  • 8% benefits allowance which can be taken as salary or used to enhance wider benefits
  • Hybrid working model
  • Excellent career development opportunities
  • Performance-related bonus scheme
  • Non-contributory pension scheme
  • Flexible benefits allowance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Income protection cover
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays and up to 12 days buy and sell
  • Option to purchase additional annual leave
  • Opportunity to influence a high-profile and rapidly evolving technology, cyber resilience and operational resilience agenda
  • Exposure to senior industry stakeholders and strategic risk initiatives across the UK financial sector
