A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Pega Developer to support the delivery of complex enterprise applications using the Pega Platform. You will work closely with Lead System Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners and engineering teams to deliver high-quality Pega solutions within a structured Agile environment.
As a Senior Pega Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and enhancing applications using the Pega Platform, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and technical standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, configure and enhance applications using Pega Platform.
- Build case types, stages, workflows, processes, business rules and decision rules.
- Develop reusable components aligned to established Pega architecture and design patterns.
- Implement integrations using REST/SOAP services, APIs, connectors and data pages.
- Develop user interfaces using Pega Constellation and related UX capabilities.
- Collaborate with Lead System Architects and Solution Architects to deliver technical designs.
- Analyse complex requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Undertake unit testing, debugging and defect resolution.
- Troubleshoot application, integration and performance-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with Pega guardrails, coding standards and engineering best practice.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews and technical assurance activities.
- Support automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployments and release activities.
- Optimise application performance and support production troubleshooting.
- Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Mentor junior Pega developers and support wider technical delivery activities.
- Contribute to estimations, sprint planning and technical documentation.
- Support production releases, implementation activities and hypercare.
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong hands-on development experience with Pega Platform.
- Experience delivering complex enterprise-scale Pega applications.
- Strong understanding of Pega case management, workflows and application development.
- Experience with case types, stages, processes, activities, data objects, data pages and decision rules.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integration services.
- Strong understanding of Pega architecture and reusable design patterns.
- Experience with Pega security, including roles, privileges and access groups.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimising Pega applications.
- Understanding of Pega DevOps, CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with architects and developers.
Certification:
- Mandatory: Pega Certified Senior System Architect (PCSSA).
- Pega Certified System Architect (PCSA) certification and progression through the Pega certification pathway.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Pega Infinity '24/'25 or later.
- Pega Constellation experience.
- Pega DX API experience.
- Pega GenAI Blueprint experience.
- Experience delivering applications on Pega Cloud.
- Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, SQL and related web technologies.
- Experience with automated testing and Pega testing capabilities.
- Cloud platform experience, including AWS or Azure.
- Application modernisation and legacy migration experience.
- Experience within public sector or highly regulated environments.
