My client is a high profile Consultancy who urgently require a Cloud Platform Engineer with proven Energy / Oil & Gas industry experience, along with strong Azure (and ideally AWS too) expertise and proven experience with FinOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration Management, and modern CI/CD platforms and workflows.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer with proven Energy / Oil & Gas industry experience
  • Expertise in Azure (hands-on Cloud Engineering)
  • Proven experience with FinOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration Management, and modern CI/CD platforms and workflows
  • Excellence in operational infrastructure support and maintenance (including cloud data centres) in the Energy / Oil & Gas sector, covering systems such as Server, Storage, Back-up & Recovery, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and Security services
  • Ability to help to shape the Cloud strategy by providing key tactical input to the Cloud Architect, driving FinOps / SRE practices and governing the operations of managed service providers (third parties)
  • Capability to help drive the adoption of modern practices, including GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Ansible / Bicep / ARM), and CI/CD development (transitioning from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft Certification (ie Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Working knowledge of AWS and subsequent AWS certifications
  • Immediate availability
