Your new company Hays are partnering with a highly regarded and well-established professional services organisation in Ipswich to recruit an experienced Interim Risk & Compliance Manager. Your new role As Interim Risk & Compliance Manager, you will support the Head of Risk & Compliance in leading the risk and compliance function, ensuring the organisation maintains the highest standards of regulatory compliance and professional conduct. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising the Risk & Compliance team on a day-to-day basis, providing guidance, mentoring and support.
- Advising on regulatory compliance matters, including conflicts, confidentiality, due diligence and professional conduct.
- Managing client and matter onboarding processes, including AML, sanctions screening and conflict checking.
- Overseeing and enhancing compliance workflows and systems, including Intapp.
- Acting as a senior point of contact for risk and compliance queries across the business.
- Supporting financial crime compliance initiatives and wider regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with internal audits, external audits and regulatory reviews.
- Reviewing and improving policies, procedures and risk management frameworks.
- Supporting training, development and best practice adoption across the organisation.
- Contributing to strategic risk and compliance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will ideally be a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or possess equivalent experience within a legal or professional services environment. You will also demonstrate:
- Significant experience within Risk & Compliance, ideally within a UK law firm.
- Strong knowledge of AML regulations, sanctions compliance and financial crime legislation.
- A thorough understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations and wider regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing client and matter onboarding processes.
- Previous leadership or team management experience.
- Working knowledge of Intapp systems and compliance workflows.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, commercially focused and solutions-driven approach.
