We are supporting a large NHS organisation to appoint an experienced Infrastructure Team Lead on a contract basis. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining line management responsibility with technical oversight of enterprise infrastructure. You will lead a team delivering reliable, high-performing IT services that support critical 24/7 operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of infrastructure Engineers and Specialists
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of infrastructure services (networks, servers, core platforms)
- Ensure the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise environments
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and major incidents
- Plan and prioritise team workloads across BAU and project activity
- Support delivery of the infrastructure roadmap and wider IT strategy
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, NHS partners, and suppliers
- Drive continuous improvement and service optimisation
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and development for team members
- Contribute to security best practice and compliance (beneficial but not core focus)
- Participate in an on-call / out-of-hours rota as required
