We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a business undertaking a significant infrastructure remediation and upgrade programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the stability, security and performance of the infrastructure estate, with a particular focus on VMware, server patching, network infrastructure and vulnerability remediation. This is a hands-on technical role suited to an engineer who is comfortable working across both Windows and Linux environments and can independently deliver infrastructure improvements within a live production environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer, patch and maintain VMware ESXi 8.0.3 environments
- Apply and manage VMware licensing upgrades
- Deliver infrastructure patching and vulnerability remediation activities across the estate
- Perform firmware upgrades and maintenance of Dell iDRAC 8 and 9 systems
- Deploy and manage operating system, anti-virus and EUC patching
- Support Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls and connectivity
- Maintain and support Windows Server 2016 and 2019 environments
- Work within Oracle Linux and legacy Linux environments
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure issues to minimise operational risk
- Support infrastructure hardening, upgrade and resilience initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers including network and connectivity suppliers
