A leading public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Power BI Data Analyst to support a key data and compliance initiative. Driven by the introduction of new legislation, this project will help the organisation proactively identify, manage and mitigate risks across its existing estate. This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful outcomes that support regulatory compliance, improve services and enable data-driven decision-making within a large and complex environment.
As a Power BI Data Analyst, you will join an initial 3-month contract to review, cleanse and consolidate data currently held across multiple Excel spreadsheets. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and improving the quality, consistency and accuracy of existing datasets.
- Consolidating multiple Excel-based data sources into a structured analytical model.
- Designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for operational and senior stakeholders.
- Creating a comprehensive reporting and case management solution.
- Producing reporting covering inspections, risk assessments, customer communications, remedial works and more.
- Analysing historical data to identify trends and patterns.
- Developing predictive analytics and risk-based models.
- Delivering actionable insights that support proactive intervention and compliance activities.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong commercial experience developing solutions in Power BI.
- Advanced data cleansing, transformation and data modelling expertise.
- Excellent knowledge of Power Query, DAX and advanced Excel.
- Experience consolidating fragmented datasets into a trusted analytical model.
- Experience developing predictive, trend-based or risk-scoring analytics.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills.
- The ability to work independently and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced project environment.
Desirable experience includes:
- SQL and database analysis experience.
- Geospatial analysis, heat mapping or hotspot visualisation expertise.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practice.
- Experience supporting regulatory or compliance-driven programmes.
