Hays are now looking for a DevOps Architect / Transformation Lead for one of our local clients: 600 p/d Inside IR35 Remote (with occasional meetings in York) 6 month+ contract BPSS What you ll be doing Assess existing software engineering and DevOps operating models. Review CI/CD pipelines, release processes, branching strategies and development workflows. Identify delivery bottlenecks and opportunities to improve engineering productivity. Define recommendations and transformation roadmaps to improve software delivery performance. Run workshops with engineering, architecture and leadership teams. Promote best practices across SDLC, platform engineering, automation and DevOps. Help organisations adopt AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices. Measure and improve engineering effectiveness using metrics and data-led insights. What we re looking for Strong background in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Software Architecture or Engineering Transformation. Experience assessing and improving software delivery processes within large organisations. Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Git workflows, release management and cloud-native delivery. Experience driving engineering maturity, automation and developer productivity improvements. Ability to engage senior stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations.
