Want to become the face of IT for a global professional services business? Hays Technology is recruiting a hands-on Senior IT Support Engineer/IT Manager to take ownership of IT across the UK for a growing international organisation. This isn't a ticket-queue role and it isn't a pure Service Delivery Manager position. You'll be the senior IT presence in London, owning day-to-day IT operations, managing relationships with an outsourced Service Desk, looking after the hardware estate, supporting infrastructure projects and becoming the trusted IT partner for senior stakeholders across the business.
We're looking for someone who's already been the go-to IT person for an office or regional business and is ready to step into a broader leadership role whilst remaining technically hands-on.
What you'll be doing:
- Taking ownership of IT across the London and Birmingham offices.
- Acting as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Managing the relationship with an outsourced IT Service Desk.
- Owning hardware lifecycle, asset management and IT procurement.
- Supporting Microsoft infrastructure including Windows, Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot and Active Directory.
- Working alongside global infrastructure engineers on networking, servers and technical projects.
- Supporting meeting room technology and end-user computing.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
We're looking for:
- Senior IT Support Engineer, Lead IT Support Engineer or hands-on IT Manager experience.
- Strong Microsoft endpoint management (Windows, M365, Intune, AD, Autopilot).
- Experience supporting multi-site environments.
- Experience owning IT for an office, business unit or regional location.
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication.
- Experience working with or managing an MSP/outsourced Service Desk is highly desirable.
- Professional services experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, taking ownership and building trusted relationships, whilst developing into a broader IT management position within a global organisation.
