- Your new company
Join a national public body that is putting a newly updated records retention schedule into practice.
The organisation needs an experienced Digital Records Professional to turn policy into a working reality across Share Point, Purview and Teams.
This is a functional records management role, and it is about people, process and good practice rather than technical build.
Your new role
You will work directly with busy business areas to apply the organisation's existing retention policies and labels to its Share Point repositories, in line with the new retention schedule.
The tools are already in place, so your focus is on applying them well and bringing colleagues with you.
You will advise on how Share Point and Teams Channels could be structured to make information easier to manage, including an approach to email.
You will also set out good practice for setting up new sites, libraries and channels, and share your experience of appraising digital records for transfer to the national archive.
You will give early thought to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and security classifications.
To make the work last beyond your contract, you will produce a Share Point records management handbook and upskill the in-house Information Governance team.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a solid grounding in records management principles, ideally backed by a qualification or demonstrable work experience.
You will have practical working experience of Microsoft Purview and Share Point in an information governance setting.
You don't need deep technical or administrator-level expertise.
Just as important, you will have the warm interpersonal skills to build relationships with busy teams and persuade them to make time for this work.
You will be well-organised, able to meet deadlines and comfortable juggling competing priorities.
Public sector experience, particularly in smaller bodies, is desirable.
You must be eligible for BPSS clearance.
What you'll get in return
This is a chance to leave a visible legacy.
You will shape how a national organisation manages its digital records, and you will build the handbook and the capability that carry the work forward.
You will work in a hybrid setup, with just two days a week in one of three regional offices, on a fixed-term contract through to 31 March 2027.
