Your new company is a leading provider of personalised investment management and wealth management services for private investors and trustees. This includes discretionary investment management, unit trusts, tax planning, trust and company management, pension advice and banking services.

Your new role involves overseeing the business operations and growth within the regions. The Business Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success and operational excellence of the Wealth Management business across a defined region. They will act as a strategic partner to regional heads, team leaders and relationship managers to optimise business performance and support the delivery of exceptional client outcomes.

The position requires a strategic approach to commercials, relationship management and operational excellence. Responsibilities include:

  • Driving business performance and supporting regional senior leadership.
  • Ensuring efficient day-to-day business management.
  • Leading strategic initiatives to enable growth, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing business readiness activities to minimise operational risks.
  • Partnering with Regional Heads and Relationship Managers to deliver regional business plans and growth targets.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, net new money, client acquisition, and productivity.
  • Supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives, including segmentation, pricing, and client experience enhancements.
  • Being a member of the local or FP Leadership Committee and Management Committee team.
  • Developing plans and goals to help the WM leadership team achieve the agreed strategy.
  • Ensuring that the wealth management business is fully prepared for the successful implementation of new products, services, operating model changes, technology, and regulatory changes.
  • Realising WM business objectives by promoting efficiency and increasing profitability.
  • Overseeing the WM Change initiative roadmap.
  • Managing production of the annual business plan, budgets and forecasts.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for resolving regional operational issues.
  • Supporting regional leadership in workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Driving performance management processes, including objective setting and regular reviews.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in business management within wealth management, private banking, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and operational frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong people-orientation, able to establish and maintain business relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive insights.
  • Experience in leading change and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and client-centric approach.
  • Confident in manipulating, analysing, and interpreting data.
  • Self-driven, comfortable working independently with a strong bias towards action.
  • A collaborative team member, adept at managing diverse requests.
