Join a leading independent technology and services provider as a Technical Operative 2 - Datacentre Engineer!
We are seeking a skilled Datacentre Engineer with a strong mechanical and technical background to support the Customisation Deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high performance and Datacentre environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Datacentres, combined with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role will be based in our Hatfield Integration Centre working closely with our Operational consultancy infrastructure teams.
Location: Hatfield AL10 9TW
Rate: An hourly rate, in-scope IR35, of £14.90 (PAYE) OR £19.33 per hour (via a Hays Approved Umbrella Company).
Contract Length: up to 4 September 2026
Shift Timings: Mon - Fri (08:00 AM - 04:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Rack n stack of active Network hardware, Switches, Routers Servers
- Understand and follow patching schedule/cut sheet.
- Installing power and data connection cables within server networking racks.
- Follow instructions and provide on-site support to remote network and systems administrators.
- Read and follow Rack Elevation Diagrams.
