We are currently seeking trustworthy and practical Property Inspection Operatives to support a short-term programme of planned maintenance room checks within student accommodation. Due to the nature of the role, operatives will be required to access student rooms independently, therefore a high level of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out detailed room and bathroom inspections in line with a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checklist
- Checking and reporting on:
- Doors, locks, hinges and mechanisms
- Flooring, windows, window restrictors and glazing
- Lighting, power sockets and electrical fittings
- Walls, ceilings, plasterwork, tiles and sealants
- Furniture condition (beds, wardrobes, desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.)
- Plumbing fixtures including taps, sinks, showers and toilets
- Extractor fans, fire notices and safety items
- Identifying mould, damp or water damage
Requirements
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, building, caretaking or property-related role
- Good general building knowledge and a practical, hands-on mindset
- Comfortable using computers/tablets to complete reports and update systems
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual and highly trustworthy
