Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, an established Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Property Services Officer on a temporary contract basis for a period of 6 months with the possibility of further extension.
Your new role
You will oversee the delivery of an efficient maintenance service, ensuring tenant satisfaction. This will include:
- Responding directly to tenants' queries regarding maintenance by telephone and/or by personal visits.
- Inspecting, where necessary, defects or repairs reported to the office, identifying the reason for the problem and ensuring it is repaired within the proper response time.
- Liaising with contractors to ensure problems are dealt with quickly and effectively.
- Monitoring the performance of contractors.
- Completing inspections in pre-set percentages of work completed by maintenance contractors.
- Carrying out 'Change of Tenancy Inspections' for properties ensuring void properties are returned ready to let at the earliest opportunity.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
- An HND or equivalent in a construction related discipline, or sound knowledge of building construction with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in construction or estate/property management.
- A high level of knowledge and experience in the diagnosing of repairs to domestic dwellings and buildings.
- Good problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
- Good organisational and computer skills, including MS Word and other MS programmes.
