Your new role As a PLC Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for various new and existing projects. You will liaise with clients to produce functional design specifications (FDS), specify hardware for certain projects, and produce PLC I/O documents. Your role will also involve testing control systems at the workshop prior to dispatch, on-site commissioning, and operator training. Additionally, you will conduct site visits for diagnostics and modifications, provide remote support, and produce detailed electrical drawings for the workshop team. What you’ll need to succeed To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in PLC, HMI, and SCADA software development. Experience in specifying hardware, producing PLC I/O documents, and testing control systems is essential. You should be adept at interpreting specifications and producing accurate electrical drawings. Strong communication skills are crucial for liaising with clients and providing technical guidance to the workshop team.
