Your new company A Local Tourist attraction, is looking for a visitor Guide. 21 hours per week.
Working hours will be between 9.30am and 5.00pm on a rota basis, in line with opening days, which are Tuesday to Sunday.
Your new role You will be a visitor guide to the organisation's exhibits and galleries, actively engaging visitors and creating a positive impression of the organisation.
You will meet and greet visitors in a friendly and polite manner, providing high standards of customer care.
In your role, you will provide accurate and up-to-date information to all visitors.
Assist with the start-up and close down of exhibitions, including AV equipment as required.
Manage visitor comments and complaints.
As a visitor guide, you will provide talks and tours of the organisation's exhibit buildings and objects to school groups and general visitors as required and be able to assist with the preparation and delivery of events such as, but not limited to, weddings, exhibition launches, corporate hire events and other activities taking place on site.
You will also ensure the safety of visitors and of other employees by strict adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
In your Visitors guide role, you will work on an individual basis or as part of a team as required.
What you'll need to succeed Essentially, you will have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) AND 1 year's experience of working in a customer service role in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
OR 2 years' experience in a customer service role in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
Essentially, you will have experience of developing or delivering activities, talks or tours.
Demonstrable interest in museums.
Enthusiasm and passion for delivering exceptional customer service to a wide range of people of all ages and abilities.
Experience of assimilating information and communicating it effectively in a readily understandable way to the general public.
Experience of working within a team and as an individual within a team, demonstrating a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
