A leading manufacturer within the heavy engineering sector is seeking a Pre-Dispatch Inspector to join its quality team in Omagh. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established organisation renowned for producing high-quality equipment supplied to customers worldwide. As Pre-Dispatch Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring that machines and sub-assemblies meet the highest quality standards before dispatch to customers. Working closely with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Sales teams, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, documenting, and reporting on finished products while supporting ongoing quality improvement duties which will include:
- Conducting final machine run and functional testing to verify performance and compliance.
- Carrying out pre-dispatch inspections on completed machines and assemblies.
- Inspecting fitted components, fabricated parts, and sub-contractor supplied assemblies.
- Compiling and maintaining accurate inspection reports, checklists, and quality documentation.
- Participating in quality meetings and presenting inspection findings.
- Supporting internal audits and quality compliance activities.
- Investigating quality concerns and assisting with root cause analysis.
- Working with production teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
- Managing serial plate allocation and maintaining traceability records.
- Recording engine numbers, serial numbers, dispatch information, and related quality data.
- Supporting dealer and supplier visits by providing technical and quality guidance.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A minimum of one year's experience in a quality inspection, manufacturing, assembly, or engineering environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of machinery and product assembly.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, engineering documentation, CAD models, or blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- GCSE-level education or equivalent qualification.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
