Your new company is a well-established food manufacturing business in the Newtownards area seeking an NPD Technologist to join its growing innovation team. This organisation is focused on driving new product development to support sustainable growth and continued success within a competitive market. Your new role as NPD Technologist involves supporting the development of new and existing products from concept through to launch. You will work closely with internal departments to develop recipes, prepare samples, organise factory trials, and ensure products meet customer, process, and legal requirements. The role includes managing development projects, maintaining accurate documentation, sourcing ingredients, and supporting cost optimisation initiatives. You will also participate in product tastings, benchmarking, and continuous improvement activities, ensuring strong communication across teams and with customers throughout the development life cycle. This is a hands-on role requiring creativity, organisation, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree/HND in a food-related discipline or previous experience in an NPD role
  • Strong understanding of food processing, microbiology, and HACCP principles
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
