Your new company A leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor is seeking a motivated Technical Apprentice to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a school-leaver or aspiring engineer to begin a career within the building services industry, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification.
You'll work alongside experienced Project Engineers and Project Managers, gaining exposure to the delivery of a wide range of mechanical and electrical building services projects.
Your new role As a Technical Apprentice, you will provide technical and project support to Engineers and Project Managers, assisting with the day-to-day delivery of projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
Key responsibilities will include: Managing and maintaining engineering drawing registers.
Assisting with the commissioning and testing of building services systems.
Supporting engineers with the preparation of equipment schedules and material take-offs.
Assisting with the resolution of day-to-day site-related issues.
Liaising with subcontractors, designers and site teams.
Attending technical and project meetings.
Maintaining site progress records, including photographs and project documentation.
Assisting with the production and updating of engineering drawings.
Supporting the preparation of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Developing an understanding of building services systems and project delivery processes.
What you'll need to succeed A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
Additional qualifications in Science, Engineering, Technology and Design or similar subjects would be advantageous.
A genuine interest in engineering and construction.
A willingness to undertake a recognised Building Services Engineering qualification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Own transport or the ability to travel to project sites would be desirable.
