Your new role: Deliver a professional joinery and maintenance service across Housing Executive properties, ensuring high standards, safety compliance, and excellent customer service in line with NIHE values.
Joinery & Maintenance Work
- Carry out joinery tasks including kitchens, doors, windows, flooring, roofing, fencing, plasterboard/dry lining, guttering and general repairs.
- Perform associated works such as painting and finishing.
- Undertake basic multi-trade tasks (e.g. plastering, plumbing, tiling) where required.
Customer Service
- Provide a high-quality, customer-focused service.
- Communicate with tenants to arrange access and explain works.
- Ensure safety of occupants, particularly vulnerable tenants.
Performance & Reporting
- Complete job records accurately using paperwork and digital devices.
- Work efficiently to meet targets and deadlines.
- Suggest improvements to enhance service delivery.
Health & Safety
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Use PPE and maintain tools, equipment and vehicles safely.
- Follow risk assessments and COSHH procedures.
- Report incidents and participate in investigations.
Teamwork & Development
- Support and mentor apprentices and colleagues.
- Assist with training and skill-sharing.
- Provide cover for team members as needed.
General Duties
- Complete work to a high standard, leaving properties safe and tidy.
- Collaborate with staff and contractors to meet targets.
- Attend training and meetings.
- Adhere to NIHE policies and maintain organisational reputation.
- Participate in emergency call-out rota if required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Completed Joinery apprenticeship.
- Minimum 2 years' relevant post-apprenticeship experience.
- Competent in joinery and able to work independently across tasks.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety in maintenance environments.
- Strong communication, time management, customer focus, and attention to detail.
- Full current driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience in response maintenance services.
- C1 driving licence.
