Your new role: As Human Resources Business Partner, you will be a key member of the Regional Leadership Team, working closely with the Regional Director, senior leaders and the central people function to shape and deliver the regional people agenda. You will translate national people priorities into effective local delivery, creating and owning a prioritised people plan aligned to business objectives. The role includes line management responsibility for a team of People Advisors and requires you to operate confidently across a geographically dispersed, multi-site region with varied political and socio-economic contexts. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, supporting leaders to build capable, engaged teams and ensuring people strategy underpins operational performance.
What you'll need to succeed: To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced and credible senior HR professional, comfortable operating with autonomy in a commercially driven, complex organisation. You will bring:
- MCIPD qualification, with a Master's degree in HR or a related discipline
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practice
- Proven experience in a senior, standalone HR role
- Demonstrable experience managing complex ER casework including disciplinary, grievance and absence management
- A track record of leading large-scale change programmes such as restructures, TUPE transfers, redundancy and redeployment exercises
- Experience working in complex, multi-site environments with diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret people data and financial metrics to inform decision-making
- Experience coaching and upskilling managers and delivering training interventions
- An understanding of learning and organisational development principles
- Experience working with trade unions and a formal coaching qualification would be advantageous.
