Your new company is a local Mechanical & Electrical Services contractor with over 50 years in business, providing M&E expertise on installation and maintenance across the UK and Ireland. They have developed their Facilities Maintenance offering to complement their installation and aftercare on larger projects, gaining a strong reputation in small works projects, reactive and planned maintenance.

Your new role is a permanent position reporting to the Head of Mechanical MTC. The FM division has client sites located all over Northern Ireland, allowing you to choose your office base while also having the option to work from home. As a Contract Manager for Mechanical works, you will focus on Measured Term Contracts primarily for small works projects in the public sector.

Some of the main duties will include:

  • Ensuring projects/contractual requirements are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Procurement of relevant plant, materials, and sub-contractor packages.
  • Responsible for the project team, staff management, control of labour, and their coordination.
  • Meeting with clients regularly.
  • Liaising with the client and contractor on project delivery.
  • Ordering and managing products/machinery for site.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Applicants must have a Mechanical Engineering related degree or a Plumbing, Pipe fitting, or HVAC Trades qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • PC literate with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Safety Knowledge.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a 'can-do' approach to work and a willingness to learn and assist.
  • Organised and disciplined in planning and approach to work.
  • Work well and confidently as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • You must have a full UK driving licence.
