Your New Role

It will be your responsibility to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our production equipment through effective multi-skilled maintenance support. This role will focus on rapid response to breakdowns, accurate fault-finding and completion of planned maintenance to minimise downtime. Beyond the tools and troubleshooting, this role is about taking pride in keeping the line running smoothly.

Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with production managers and shift supervisors to determine day-to-day maintenance and production priorities
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across plant equipment, keeping up-to-date maintenance records of all daily activities
  • Playing a key role in developing and implementation of a continuous improvement program & culture
  • Perform daily in-depth fault-finding, Root Cause Analyses, diagnosis and breakdown repairs
  • Comply with Company and Government legislation regarding Health & Safety and ensure H&S standards are maintained.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on plant control systems
  • Investigate the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid loss of plant production
  • Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to high standards
  • Ensure, as part of the engineering team, that a safe, clean and tidy working environment is maintained
  • Provide specialist technical advice where appropriate
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to co-operate and deal tactfully and diplomatically with a variety of people, both internal and external.

What You'll Need To Succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualification
  • Experience in FMCG environments, preferably food
  • Experience of fault-finding and repair
  • Reliable with good time management
  • Have creative thinking skills and techniques for engineering/maintenance issues
  • Excellent communicator, strong analytical, oral/written communication.

Non-time-served candidates may also be considered subject to relevant experience and work history.

What You'll Get In Return

This role offers a fantastic shift pattern of 06:00 - 15:00 across Monday - Saturday. You will be required to work 5 of 6 days every week, with 1 in 3 Saturdays required. This is supported with a highly competitive hourly rate of up to £21 (DoE). An enhanced OT rate is also available. You'll be joining a culturally diverse workforce where people look out for each other and take real pride in what they produce.
