Your new role
As Accounting Technician, you will report to the Financial Controller and your main duties will include:
- Assist with month-end close processes, working closely with the Accountant and Members of the Finance Team to support the day-to-day finance function.
- Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheet and journal entries.
- Provide support with the year-end close procedures and production of the year-end audit file to include supporting schedules, audit evidence and analysis.
- Liaise with both the Internal and External Auditors as required and provide support for the completion of audits.
- Conduct financial reviews and provide ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.
- Assist with the preparation of regular trade predictions and financial projections.
- Provide support with the annual budgeting process, including the preparation and ongoing monitoring of budgets and the provision of cost analysis and forecasts.
- Provide support for the weekly and monthly payroll processes.
- Contribute to the development and review of financial policies and procedures as required.
- Support finance staff with implementing continuous system/process improvements and contribute to finance projects as required.
- Assist with other finance administrative tasks as and when required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Fully Qualified Accounts Technician: IATI or equivalent
- At least two years' relevant experience in either a practice or commercial background
- In-depth understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and strong accounts preparation experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with payroll
