Your new company A major infrastructure organisation is seeking a Structures Standards Manager to support the ongoing development, review and implementation of technical standards across its rail and infrastructure assets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in standards management, asset management, maintenance, structures or civil engineering to contribute to the safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure. Your new role As Structures Standards Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing, developing and updating technical standards relating to structures and civil engineering assets. You will work closely with asset management teams, engineering specialists and external stakeholders to ensure standards remain compliant with industry requirements and aligned with operational needs. Key responsibilities will include: Reviewing and refreshing existing structures standards and identifying opportunities for the development and implementation of new and revised technical standards-related issues, gaps, clashes and derogations through to compliance, assurance and audit technical documentation, briefing notes and awareness with internal and external stakeholders to maintain an effective standards the continuous improvement of standards management processes and engineering governance. Examples of areas covered by the role include: Structures management, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, sea defences, tunnels and evaluation and examination and works vehicle incursion and enhancement of adopted structures standards. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you should have: Experience developing, reviewing or implementing engineering of standards application within an asset management, maintenance or infrastructure technical experience within structures and civil engineering of infrastructure asset management and engineering stakeholder engagement and communication ability to interpret legislation, industry standards and technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline, with professional membership desirable.
