Your new company Hays NI are pleased to be working with a leading UK marine infrastructure and engineering contractor, delivering specialist turnkey solutions across the offshore wind, marine civils, nuclear, cable installation, and coastal defence sectors. With over 25 years of experience, a fleet of specialist marine plant including jack-up barges, and in-house engineering and fabrication capabilities, the company supports major infrastructure projects throughout the UK and Europe. Your new role Due to successful bidding, this company will require an experienced Site Agent to join them on an upcoming major civils scheme in Belfast. As Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of marine and piling projects, overseeing all aspects of site operations including safety, health, environmental compliance, quality, programme management, resources, commercial performance and contractual obligations. You will lead site teams and subcontractors in the execution of marine works, piling operations, quay and harbour developments and other heavy civil engineering works, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. This is an initial 4-month contract, commencing in Autumn 2026.
What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Site Agent or Senior Engineer capacity within the marine, piling or heavy civil engineering sectors. You will be confident managing multiple work fronts, coordinating plant-intensive operations and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors throughout the project life. To be considered, you should possess:
- Proven experience delivering marine, piling or complex civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems.
- Excellent planning, organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors, labour and plant resources.
- CSR card (essential).
- SMSTS or equivalent management qualification (essential).
- Temporary Works and marine construction knowledge would be advantageous.
- Flexibility to work varied shift patterns where project requirements demand.
