Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be recruiting for our client, an Interim Financial Accountant to join their Belfast-based finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Supporting a large international business, you will work closely with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, taking ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, statutory compliance and business partnering activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to gain exposure to a global finance function while contributing to strategic decision-making, process improvements and the ongoing growth of the organisation.
Your new role Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
Supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal preparation and account reconciliations.
Producing forecasts and financial projections for multiple international entities.
Managing balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
Supporting payroll accounting activities and ensuring accurate cost allocation across entities.
Preparing and analysing financial data to support business decision-making.
Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and year-end audit processes.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns across various jurisdictions.
Partnering with commercial and operational teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis.
Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles.
Monitoring accounts receivable performance and bad debt trends.
Identifying opportunities to enhance financial controls, efficiencies, and automation.
Supporting ERP system improvements and process optimisation projects.
Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal governance frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with strong financial reporting experience.
Good working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
Experience supporting audits, VAT compliance and month-end reporting.
Strong ERP systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
