Your new company is a well-established and expanding manufacturing business specialising in structural steel and fabrication solutions, seeking a Fabrication & Assembly Manager to join its Lisburn operation. Your new role involves taking full responsibility for leading fabrication and assembly operations, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a key role where you will drive performance, support business growth, and implement continuous improvement. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading daily fabrication and assembly operations to meet production and delivery targets
  • Managing labour utilisation, costs, and operational efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO9001, ISO3834, and EN1090 (CE) standards
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure products are manufactured to specification
  • Driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitoring KPIs and implementing corrective actions
  • Promoting a strong health & safety culture across all operations
  • Overseeing paint line, stores, and dispatch functions
  • Leading, coaching, and developing production teams

What you'll need to succeed: You will be an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong background in fabrication and welding, capable of supporting a growing business in a fast-paced environment. You will have:

  • Proven leadership experience within fabrication or heavy manufacturing
  • Strong technical knowledge of welding and structural steel fabrication
  • Experience managing teams and delivering against production targets
  • A solid understanding of quality standards and continuous improvement
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and people management ability

Desirable:

  • Experience with EN1090, ISO9001, and ISO3834 standards
  • Exposure to high-volume manufacturing environments
