Your new role
As a CAD Designer, you will play a key role in delivering creative and commercially viable packaging solutions from initial concept through to production. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will respond to customer briefs with innovative designs that meet technical, environmental and manufacturing requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing high-quality structural packaging designs and technical drawings
- Developing innovative carton solutions in response to customer briefs
- Creating prototypes and visual concepts for customer presentation
- Collaborating with internal teams including Sales, Pre-press and Production to bring designs to market
- Producing multi-up layouts for costing and tooling requirements
- Researching new materials, trends and technologies to enhance design output
- Supporting the development of future opportunities and project pipelines
- Ensuring all documentation and design outputs are completed accurately and on time
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in a relevant design or engineering discipline
- Proven experience in packaging or carton design (ideally within the folding carton industry)
- Strong CAD capability, ideally using ArtiosCAD or similar packaging software
- Experience working to design briefs within tight deadlines and budget constraints
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical design ability
- Experience with sample prototyping and technical presentations
You will also demonstrate:
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and internal teams
- A proactive and innovative mindset
- The ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing customer requirements
- A strong interest in sustainable design and packaging solutions
