Your new company Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading organisation in the energy and utilities sector to appoint a Business Development Manager. This is a key strategic role within a forward-thinking business focused on delivering sustainable energy solutions and supporting the transition towards a low-carbon future across Northern Ireland.
Your new role In this role, you will take ownership of developing and delivering commercial growth strategies across a diverse customer base, including domestic, commercial and public sector clients. You will lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring the delivery of ambitious growth targets whilst maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will engage closely with major customers and partners to understand future demand, identify opportunities and influence energy strategy. The role will also involve analysing market trends, monitoring competitor activity and contributing to initiatives that support renewable and low-carbon energy solutions. Alongside this, you will play a key role in shaping customer engagement approaches and driving continuous improvement across commercial operations.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven experience in a business development, commercial or sales leadership role
- Demonstrable track record of delivering growth and implementing commercial strategies
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple sectors
- Previous experience leading and developing teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong communication and influencing skills at senior level
